The car interior peaked in 1961

Car interiors have come a long way since this 1961 Ferrari 400 Superamerica rolled away from Maranello. We've got airbags, touchscreen infotainment systems, digital gauges and heated massaging seats — none of which is half as cool as what we see above. Hell, even the guts of the Ferrari 488 aren’t as charming or luxurious as this vintage Italian coupe.

Reddit user JasonShortNose posted this beautiful picture of a Superamerica's interior. Sure, this Ferrari's non-dished wooden steering wheel is engineered to fracture your skull in an accident, and the chrome gauge surrounds create a disco-ball effect in bright sunlight. It's still the perfect blend of unmatched craftsmanship and understated luxury.
