The upcoming Frankfurt motor show is the next stop on the Honda CR-V Hybrid's world tour, which kicked off this April in Shanghai. The electrified crossover, which is shown in a prototype form that looks darn near production-ready to our eyes, makes a lot of sense — especially given diesel’s precipitous fall from grace in Europe.

In fact, the CR-V Hybrid can be considered an almost direct replacement for the diesel versions offered in previous years; going forward, Euro-market CR-V buyers will be able to spec a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine or the hybrid system. And that’s it; the diesel option is conspicuously absent.
