Body variants of the Chevy Corvette have been proposed, sometimes built, destroyed, reimagined and thought about pretty much since the car's inception as a concept in 1953. This latest Photoshop job by Corvette Forum member Internetguru has enthusiasts jabbering at each other once again. And since we're all fresh off Callaway's Z06 AeroWagen … I'm going to say monstrosity, it seems like a better time than ever to open the floodgates. You guys were split about 75 percent against Callaway's shooting brake, with 25 percent for.
I like this rendering. It takes the Corvette's lines and attitude and stretches them just enough to squeeze a back passenger or two inside. The lines look way better than the AeroWagen — at least to my eyes — and visibility would probably suffer less. Something like this would surely add weight, perhaps 500 pounds, but it's not like the current Corvette powerplant couldn't handle it.
Obviously the Porsche Panamera comes to mind looking at this thing, as does the Aston Martin Rapide. But we're betting this car could be produced at a more reasonable price than those high-dollar marques. What do you think?
Let me have it in the comments section.
