The deputy to White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus is leaving the administration to work for outside groups that aim to bolster President Donald Trump’s agenda, according to a senior White House official.
The move by Katie Walsh, who worked with Priebus at the Republican National Committee, comes a week after the health-care bill the president championed collapsed in the House of Representatives.
Earlier Thursday, Trump issued a remarkable warning to conservative Republican lawmakers in Congress, suggesting he would work against them in the midterm elections next year if they don’t support his agenda.
