Sen. Elizabeth Warren says her husband, Bruce Mann, told her he’d support her decision if she chose to run for president. But he advised against it.
‘The Senate thing was bad enough, and running for president would be worse—a lot worse.’
That’s how the Massachusetts Democrat recounts the episode in her new book, “This Fight Is Our Fight,” according to excerpts reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.
Warren of course did not run, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did not defeat now-President Donald Trump. A poll taken in late March by Public Policy Polling has Warren in front of Trump by a 48%-to-43% margin in a hypothetical 2020 race, though former Vice President Joe Biden has an even larger lead against Trump, of 14 points.
