Carvel Free Cone Day 2017

Today Carvel is helping us celebrate spring with the perfect treat: free ice cream

as part of the annual Carvel Free Cone Day. Customers visiting a Carvel location today between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. will receive a free junior soft ice cream cone with the choice of three flavors: vanilla, chocolate or cookie butter.

There are 16 Carvel franchise locations in New Jersey. You can find the Carvel nearest you here. The company considers Free Cone Day to be the kickoff to “ice cream season” each year.

Carvel was first founded in 1929, and remains best known for its soft-serve ice cream and famous ice cream cake creations such as Fudgie the Whale and Cookie O’Puss.

This year, Carvel is again partnering with The American Red Cross to make today a fundraiser for the charity. While supplies last, customers will be able to buy a $1 coupon book worth more than $20 in savings for Carvel ice cream. All proceeds from the coupon book sales go to the Red Cross. This is the sixth year in a row that Carvel has partnered with the charity on Free Cone Day.

According to a press release from the company, Carvel expects to send more than $150,000 to the Red Cross for disaster relief efforts.

“Free Cone Day is much more than just a ‘freebie’ day” said Scott Colwell, the president of Carvel, in the press release. “Not only is it the official start of ice cream season, but it’s a special day for us to show genuine gratitude to our loyal guests while coming together to raise funds for a very worthy cause.”
