Is your dog the greatest dog to walk the earth?
Is your cat a crowd pleaser? How about your iguana — the hottest lizard to ever sunbathe on a rock? Do you think they have what it takes to clinch the title of New Jersey’s Top Pet?
We want to hear from you. In the coming days, we’re accepting submissions for our New Jersey’s Top Pet competition. Dogs and cats will be considered along with other animals — horses, rabbits, hedgehogs, geckos, snakes and more. Shelter animals are welcome, even if they haven’t found a “forever home.”
The breadth of our entries is limited only by the number of different creatures you can send us.
In order to get your pet in the running, send us an email with at least one good photo of your animal friend; if you’d like, send us a link to a video, too (YouTube/Facebook/Twitter is fine). And though we don’t need a full biography of Fido or Patches, please let us know the type of pet (breed/mix, etc.) it is, along with its name and age. A sentence or two about what makes your pet great wouldn’t hurt, either. (Also, don’t forget to include your full name, phone number, email and town.)
Send this information to email@example.com.
(We’re happy for you to upload photos in the comments section, but just make sure to also send them via email, so we have your contact information.)
The deadline to enter New Jersey’s Top Pet is May 12. Once we’ve gathered the entries, we’ll ask readers to vote for eight finalists and our in-house judges will choose two more for a total of ten. Then we plan to visit with each of the finalists on the road to determining the top pet in the state.
