Everyone loves Chick-fil-A, and Garden Staters are no exception.
Business Insider recently teamed up with Foursquare to determine the most popular fast food restaurant in each state. In New Jersey, the most sought after fast food is Chick-fil-A, the Atlanta-based chain known just as much for customer service and refusal to open on Sunday as its beloved chicken sandwiches.
According to Business Insider, “Foursquare looked at which chains received the most visits on average per location in every state based on the total number of visits to each chain divided by the number of locations in that state.”
The Garden State certainly isn’t alone in its love of Chick-fil-A; a total of 38 states prefer Chick-fil-A for their fast food. For the best of the rest: Alaska, North Dakota and Washington, D.C. prefer McDonalds; South Dakota and Hawaii prefer Popeyes; Utah and Texas prefer In-N-Out Burger; Vermont prefers Wendy’s; California goes for Raising Cane’s; Nevada loves White Castle; Oklahoma prefers Taco Bueno and Kansas sticks with Culver’s.

There are currently 36 Chick-fil-A locations in New Jersey (including two within a ten minute drive of the NJ Advance Media office in Woodbridge.) Keep your eyes open for more to come; Chick-fil-A has been one of the fastest expanding restaurant chains in the state recently.
In an article from earlier this year, Business Insider looked at the secret to Chick-fil-A’s success, noting that the chain “consistently ranks first in restaurant customer-service surveys. In reviews, customers rave about the restaurants’ cleanliness, quick, convenient service, and hardworking employees.” Chick-fil-A’s average hourly wage is also slightly higher than many other fast food operations, Business Insider said.
