Bay Area Sports Insiders: Warriors preparing for Jazz’s suffocating pace of play

Golden State thrives on playing fast and scoring at a high volume. It’s that pace of play that allowed the Warriors to average 113.2 points per 100 possessions during the regular season.

At the other end of the spectrum is Utah, a team that achieved success by deliberately slowing its opponents down to throw them out of rhythm. The Jazz allowed the fewest points per game (96.8) of any team in the NBA this year.

These opposite styles of play will be front and center during the Western Conference Semifinals, which begin Tuesday at Oracle Arena.

On this episode of Bay Area Sports Insiders, Tim Kawakami and Anthony Slater analyze how the clashing of styles will pan out on the court, several matchups to watch, including how Stephen Curry will be relied on for his defense against George Hill, and how Kevin Durant can reassert himself against the likes of Gordon Hayward and Joe Johnson.
