Valley Christian set up an epic showdown next week against Serra on Friday night, building 25-point halftime lead on its way to a 28-10 victory over Bellarmine College Prep at San Jose City College.

Juan Turner opened the scoring with a 19-yard pass to Skylar Loving-Black in the first quarter.

Valley Christian added three touchdowns in the second quarter — on a 71-yard pass play from Turner to Charlie Bostic, a 45-yard punt return by D’Angelo McKenzie and a 35-yard interception return by D’Von Lang.

The win improved Valley Christian’s record to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the West Catholic Athletic League. Having already beaten St. Francis, Valley Christian could all but wrap up the WCAL crown with a win next Saturday at Serra.

Last season, Serra, St. Francis and Valley Christian shared the league crown, each with 6-1 records.

St. Francis 42, Archbishop Mitty 21: Darrell Page and Opeti Fangupo each rushed for two touchdowns and Reed Vettel passed for two TDs to lead St. Francis to a victory in Mitty’s one home night game of the season.

Page scored on a 34-yard run less than three minutes into the game for a 7-0 lead. Vettel then threw a 43-yard scoring pass to Maurice Wilmer and a 21-yard touchdown pass to Evan J Williams for a 21-0 cushion.

Fangupo’s scoring runs of 2 and 11 yards made it 35-14, and Page’s 11-yard run extended the lead to 42-14.

De La Salle 45, Monte Vista 7: De La Salle built a three-touchdown lead after one quarter on its way to an easy victory on the road.

Kairee Robinson scored on a 20-yard run for the Spartans’ first points. Andrew Jones’ run made it 14-0, and a 30-yard pass from Erich Storti to Jack Powers widened the margin to 21-0. Neither side scored after halftime as De La Salle improved to 8-1 and Monte Vista fell to 4-4.

South Bay/Peninsula

TyRee Bracy threw two touchdown passes as Milpitas (8-0, 4-0) remained perfect on the season with a 49-0 rout of Palo Alto (1-6, 1-2). … Aragon (7-0, 3-0) stayed undefeated as it rallied from a two-point deficit after three quarters for a 14-8 win over Burlingame (4-3, 0-2), a victory that sets up a huge game next week for Aragon as it plays host to undefeated Half Moon Bay.

East Bay

San Ramon Valley had 621 yards of offense on its way to a 64-21 rout of Dublin to run its record to 8-0 overall and 7-0 in the East Bay Athletic League. Clark Baker completed 15 of 20 passes for 308 yards and six touchdowns. Jason Javier (161 yards, 22 carries, one TD) and Tristan Sinclair (109 yards, six carries, two TDs) led the Wolves’ ground attack.
