Kaepernick celebrates Eminem’s rap supporting him, dissing Trump

3 min read

Amid a new and intense rap, Eminem raised a fist in support of Colin Kaepernick — who raised a metaphoric fist in return

Eminem dropped “The Storm” on Tuesday night ahead of the BET Awards. In it he backed the former 49ers quarterback and dissed President Donald Trump for (among other things) trying to halt NFL players’ protest during the national anthem.

“This is for Colin — ball up a fist,” Eminem said near the end of his freestyle rap.

Kaepernick later posted his appreciation on social media.

“I appreciate you Eminem,” Kaepernick wrote, with a fist emoji.

Kaepernick also posted a clip of Eminem’s rap, which included several other NFL-related verses.

“Now if you’re a black athlete, you’re a spoiled little brat for / Tryna use your platform or your stature / To try to give those a voice who don’t have one,” Eminem also rapped. “It’s like we take a step forward, then backwards / But that’s his form of distraction / Plus he gets an enormous reaction / When he attacks the NFL so we focus on that / Instead talking about Puerto Rico or gun reform for Nevada / All these horrible tragedies and he’s bored and would rather / Cause a Twitter storm with the Packers…”

Here is the rap in full, followed by Kaepernick praising Eminem…

I appreciate you @eminem ✊🏾
