BERKELEY – Former Warriors assistant Theo Robertson has been added to the Cal basketball staff, new Bears head coach Wyking Jones announced Wednesday.

Robertson has spent the last three seasons in the NBA, two with Golden State as a video intern and video coordinator in player development. This past season he’s been part of Luke Walton’s staff with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Robertson, 30, is a familiar name to Cal fans. He played for the Bears from 2006-2010 after graduating from high school at De La Salle. The Pittsburg native was a two-year captain of the Golden Bears and was picked the team MVP when Cal won the Pac-10 title in 2010. He played forward for the Bears.

He completed his career as Cal’s all-time three-point shooter, making 44.0 percent, and ranks among the school’s top 25 career scorers with 1,315 total points.

Golden Bear great Theo Robertson, who led California to the 2010 Pac-10 title before joining the NBA staffs of the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers, will rejoin Cal men’s basketball as an assistant coach, head coach Wyking Jones announced Wednesday.

Robertson has a degree from Cal in social welfare.
