With all signs pointing toward Marshawn Lynch coming out of retirement to play for the Oakland Raiders, his mom was asked how that would make her feel.
“Oakland is home for me .. I’m a Bay Area girl, so I’m a Raider girl,” Delisa Lynch said in an interview on Sirius XM NFL Radio on Thursday.
She then chuckled and asked, “You tell me how I should feel, if it does happen?”
Marshawn Lynch met with the Raiders on Wednesday and reportedly informed team officials he intends to un-retire in order to play for his hometown team. His mom knew that he wouldn’t stay retired long.
“But I’ve said that a long time before retirement, that if he retires he’ll be back,” Delisa Lynch said. “That’s what I kept saying thinking he was gonna come back last year.”
However, she said she couldn’t offer any insights into what’s going through her son’s mind regarding playing with the Raiders.
“You know, Marshawn and I don’t really discuss football like,” she said. “But I could see a little glow.
“The town is buzzing and (if) everybody is loving it, then I am too,” she added.
Should Marshawn wind up in Silver & Black, it won’t be the first time Delisa Lynch sits at the Coliseum to watch one of her family members play for the Raiders. Her brother, Lorenzo Lynch, played safety for the Raiders from 1996-97.
