Remember how John Lynch’s daughter cried when he told her his new job was with the 49ers?
Well, she wasn’t the only one skeptical about the situation — albeit in a different way than one NFL general manager, who reportedly guessed Lynch would fall flat with San Francisco.
“I thought he’d suck,” a GM told Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report. “I was wrong.”
So far, John Lynch has been applauded for a draft-day trade with the Bears and was commended greatly by Bay Area News Group columnist Tim Kawakami.
“If (Solomon) Thomas and (Reuben) Foster stay healthy and keep to their projected performance level, this franchise just picked up two potential difference-makers for what was the league’s worst defense,” Kawakami wrote, noting the 49ers’ two first-round picks in the 2017 NFL Draft.
