Quarterback Deshaun Watson is getting a closer look by the 49ers, and vice versa.
Watson, who led Clemson to the past two season’s national championship game, is expected to visit the 49ers’ Santa Clara facility on Monday and Tuesday, according to NFL Network.
On Sunday, Watson hosted a football camp in Columbia, South Carolina for over 150 youth. He’s expected to visit another NFC West team, the Arizona Cardinals, on Wednesday.

General manager John Lynch and other 49ers staff, including quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello, put Watson through a private workout with another team on March 22 after initially meeting with him at the scouting combine in Indianapolis.
Watson arrives as the 49ers begin their nine-week offseason program under first-year coach Kyle Shanahan. The only quarterbacks currently on the roster are Brian Hoyer and Matt Barkley, both of whom signed in free agency last month.
The 49ers own the second overall pick in the draft April 27 in Philadelphia. Lynch and his traveling party last month also attended the pro days of other top quarterback prospects in North Carolina’s Mitchell Trubisky and Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer.
