Seattle coach Pete Carroll says Marshawn Lynch `somewhat entertaining’ idea of comeback

Seattle coach Pete Carroll left the door open at least a little bit with regard to a comeback by Marshawn Lynch.

At the NFL owner’s meetings Wednesday, Carroll said Lynch was “somewhat entertaining” the idea, even though he hadn’t asked to take off the reserve/retired list.

Carroll talked with reporters, including Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, as NFC coaches met with media at the conclusion of the owner’s meetings.

Last week, Lynch’s agent Doug Hendrickson told KNBR-680 that he and his client had not discussed a comeback.

On March 17, ESPN and NFL Media reported that Lynch was ending his one-year retirement and playing for the Raiders.

Lynch remains property of the Seahawks and can’t deal with any other team unless he is released or his rights are traded.

Raiders coach Jack Del Rio declined direct comment on Lynch Monday and sounded skeptical about the possibility of adding Adrian Peterson, who has been released by the Minnesota Vikings.

Besides adding a power back that is needed after Latavius Murray signed with the Minnesota Vikings, putting Lynch in a Raiders uniform could entice fans on the fence about the team following the vote to move to Las Vegas to renew their season tickets.
