OAKLAND — A brawl in which two men appear to be violently shoving another man at the end of the Golden State Warriors’ Game 2 NBA Finals win was captured by the live ABC broadcast Sunday night, during which Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James does a quick evasive maneuver as he left the court.
As captured by Deadspin and several other tweets, the fisticuffs involved a large man in a blue Hawaiian-style shirt and yellow “City” cap and another man in a black T-shirt who combined to push down another man in a business-casual shirt, all while security staff and Oakland police work to corral the fracas.
Helping James evade any contact with the fight was teammate J.R. Smith, who reflexively pushes him out of harm’s way. Talk about protecting your superstar.
Oakland police said after the shoving match was broken up, the men were sent on their way and no arrests were made. All of the brief combatants were Warriors fans, police said.
